About

Hello! I'm Nina :-)

I learned to solder through my background in electronics which tbh i found really boring. Since then I've learned how to apply these skills to making unique and eclectic jewellery.

All of my pieces feature up-cycled materials such as broken potter found mudlarking, local Scottish stone, beads and components harvested from broken second hand jewellery, or vintage buttons. Any pottery is shaped by hand, copper foil applied, and then given its solder form.

I'm the third generation to use these skills as my father makes stained glass as did his great uncle. I still use some of my great great uncles tools!

I'm really inspired by nature, and the medium of soft soldering and the unique and unpredictable effects that it produces. Im often also inspired by the patina and pattern of the pottery I find, and the beads I harvest from broken jewellery. It brings me a lot of joy seeing objects that would otherwise be ignored being given a new lease of life!

Nina
